Recently I’ve seen a lot of traffic on my site, and I thought now would be a great time to introduce myself to my new readers. So for those of you who’ve been here for a while, you may know some or most of what I write about in here, but don’t worry. New exciting content is coming soon!
Well, to start off, my name is Megann Louise and I’m 19 years old. I was born on August 12 (so that makes me a Leo for you zodiac enthusiasts out there). I grew up in a small town with my family of four- mom, dad, and younger sister. I’ve had a lot of pets, but right now I have a fish named Usain and a cat named Miles. There’s nothing too interesting about me that could fit in “the basics” category so let’s just skip to the next one, shall we?
I went to a very small high school in the same hick town I was raised in. In June of 2017, I graduated high school with roughly 110 classmates. In the fall, I attended a community college that had a smaller building near my house. After a semester of the basic classes, I realized what I wanted to major in- film and interactive media. Unfortunately, the community college I was attending didn’t offer many classes that would transfer to the University I wanted to go to that also counted for my major. So, with that in mind, I decided to take the spring semester off to prepare for my transition to a large university and save money rather than spend hundreds of dollars on classes that wouldn’t matter in the long run. A lot more went on that led me to taking a break and I actually wrote another article about my time in community college. If you’re interested in reading that, let me know and I’ll be sure to get it up!
Interests and Hobbies
I began writing when I was either 12 or 13 years old when I discovered BlogSpot. I didn’t like the layout and tools provided by BlogSpot and ended up deleting my sites early on and restarting. After a long time of going back and forth, I gave up and just wrote in a journal. Then I found out about WordPress. Now I’ve been using WordPress for around a year and a half and I never think about starting over like I used to.
Whenever I’m not writing for my site, I’m usually indulging in social media splurges. I’ve recently been super obsessed with Twitter, more so than I’ve ever been before (which was a lot to begin with). I also love Instagram. I have always had an interest in photography and I use Instagram for inspiration for my photos. I also have a selfie obsession so it kind of feeds my addiction. My Twitter and Instagram handles are in the sidebar on the right if you’re thinking about giving me a follow or even just stalking for a little bit.
No matter what I’m doing, I always have music playing. When I was younger, I spent four years in band as a flutist and now I play ukulele, so I feel like I’ll always have some sort of attachment to music. I don’t seem to favor one genre over another and I’m always open to new suggestions. I actually made a Spotify playlist to share my recent favorites with my readers. You can find a link to the playlist in the right sidebar. If you like what I listen to, give it a follow so you can keep up with my latest favorites! Also, if you have any recommendations for songs, use the Contact page to let me know! Maybe I’ll even add them to the playlist!
I know most of my readers came from either my “How We Met: Her Side” or “One Last Dance” that are about my relationship. However, for those of you who didn’t pick it up, I have a boyfriend. We’ve been together for a little over seven months and we’re going strong. We met in high school and he’s actually graduating in a few days. I actually have an entire article about how we met from my point of view, fittingly titled, “How We Met: Her Side” so if you’re into love stories, that’s one to check out! Our relationship is very strong and unique, and honestly all I’ve ever asked for. And thankfully, when we go to college in the fall, we’ll be attending the same school!
As of right now, I have five tattoos. I’ve always thought tattoos are a really cool form of self expression. I got my first tattoo at 16 with my mother, a simple heart that wraps around into an infinity symbol- “infinite love.” My next tattoo was a quote on my left foot that says “life is a beautiful struggle.” If I’m being honest, I only got it because I was craving a new tattoo. I closed my eyes and scrolled through Pinterest until I stopped on that one. After that tattoo, I got another quote on my wrist. This one, however, had special meaning to me. It was a quote of my friend who passed away, “you are never alone.” But I guess I have to come clean and let everybody know that I got that one in a camper. Yeah, big mistake. It looks really bad, so I plan to get it covered soon. The next tattoo I got was my present to myself after graduating high school. Throughout high school, I was a huge fan of a poet named Atticus so I thought it was only right to get a quote of his permanently inked on my body. On my left arm, I got “you are enough, a thousand times enough.” This quote means a lot because as some of my long time readers know, I’ve had a rough time with self esteem. This tattoo serves as a reminder to myself that I am in fact enough. And now to conclude what feels like a strange tour of my body, my final tattoo. This one is definitely my favorite one so far. I recently found an old paper with a signature of my late friend and thought it would be a cool tattoo. So I got his signature on the left side of my ribcage. That way, he will always be by my side and close to my heart.
I want to thank all my new (and old) readers for showing interest in what I write. I love getting to know my readers, so please leave comments down below or use the Contact page above to send me a message! Also, follow me on Instagram and Twitter! Like I said earlier, my usernames are in the sidebar. If you have any requests for articles, let me know! I love to hear from you guys and get your input.
