Q & A

I’ve been promising a Q & A post for a few months now and I’ve been putting it off. I have no excuse for it. I’m just super lazy. But I’m finally here to answer your questions!

Before we begin, I would like to thank everybody who submitted questions. You guys had some really good ones! However, if I were to answer all of them, I’d be here all day. So I chose some of my favorites to answer. Brace yourselves. Get your popcorn. Here we go.

Q. Where have you been?

A. School has taken up most of my time lately. I’ve been a very busy girl between school and maintaining what itty bitty social life I have left. And those are my top priorities, trumping my site. I love writing, but it is just a hobby for me. If (and when) my site becomes a steady source of income, I will put more work into keeping it regularly updated. Until then, I’ll post whenever I find time and inspiration.

Q. What happened to your Spotify playlist?

A. It’s still up! Just like this site, I took a bit of a break from it. But I’m going to update it soon and add my morning favorites.

Q. What is the most important thing that you have learned while living on your own?

A.  I’m not a kid anymore. I can’t rely on my parents to do the dishes, laundry, etc. It’s all me. And it’s taught me to be more grateful for everything they have done for me. There are a lot of hard days when I feel too drained to even clean a fork. And now I understand how they felt whenever I took advantage of their housekeeping.

Q. If you had a caution label, what would it say?

A. “Caution: heavily indecisive.”

Q. Do you have any pets?

A. Back at home I have a cat. He’s a real pain in the butt. Where I’m living now, I have three fish- two goldfish and a cichlid. My two goldfish (Brutus and J.C.) live together in the fishbowl in my kitchen, while Usain (my cichlid) lives in my living room.

Q. What do you want to do once you graduate?

A. This is a good question… I don’t know what I want to do yet. I just changed my major yet again and it’s made me feel more comfortable in the direction I’m heading in. However, I’m still not 100% sure where it will take me. I’ve considered some different options such as being a public relations specialist or social media coordinator. But those seem so heavenly that they’re nearly impossible. So until I find something that really interests me, I’m going to keep an open mind.

Q. What is your favorite thing to snack on while studying?

A. My favorite thing to snack on period is Ben & Jerry’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream. I’ve always got some in my freezer!

Q. Would you recommend CSU to a graduating senior interested in film?

A. Well, before I changed my major, I was a film major. It’s a wonderful place to be. Everyone is so diverse and see things in so many different ways that it feels like being a kid in a candy shop whenever you get to hear all these different perspectives. The film department offers you so many great opportunities, too. Just recently I met a film producer from Cleveland, Tyler Davidson, as he was promoting his new film Galveston. He came to my class and answered everyone’s questions about the film industry. There’s also opportunities for studying actors and filmmakers to connect through the database of actors. If you find yourself really interested (and I mean really interested) in film, this school would be a great choice.

Q. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A. Hopefully working somewhere that I am very happy and comfortable at. I’d love to be married with a family and a pup, living somewhere quiet and cozy all year round.

Q. Who is the last person you called?

A. My mom.

Q. Have you made any friends in school that you want to keep in your life after graduation?

A. Of course! I have made quite a few friends that I really connect with. It was hard making good friends in the small town I grew up in, but at my college there is so much diversity that it’s easy to find people that are like me. I love all the friends I’ve made here at CSU, and I really hope they all stay in my life.

Q. Where do you get your clothes?

A. I love Burlington, Marshall’s, and Plato’s Closet a whole bunch. They’re my favorite places to visit because there’s always really nice clothes for decent prices. But there’s also times when I feel the urge to shop, but don’t have the money for it. That’s when I go to Romwe and Shein. They’re super affordable, and have so many pieces to choose from so I end up spending hours online looking through everything!
