It feels so good to finally get this secret out! I’ve been dying to tell everyone! In December, Colt and I will be welcoming a sweet baby Shaeffer into the world!
When I started feeling icky I decided to take a break from writing and let myself rest whenever I felt tired (which, spoiler alert, is all the time when you’re pregnant).
Being that I’m the worst with pain and discomfort, the first trimester has been interesting. I’m very lucky to have Colt taking care of me whenever he is home. He has been so helpful and caring (even when I’m grouchy) and I cannot thank him enough. We also have an amazing support system made up of close friends and our families. We made the decision early on to share the news early (at 7 weeks) with our immediate family and a couple close friends so that we had some people to talk to as we experienced all of these changes for the first time. Plus we suck at keeping secrets.
I hope to share more details as the pregnancy progresses, but my body has never been in worse shape so I have no idea when that will be. I promise to share stories of how I found out, told Colt, told our families, and more in due time.
