In the last few days, we’ve put the finishing touches in Haiden’s nursery! We worked so hard for months to make it perfect for her as well as convenient for us so that when she’s here, it feels like a safe place for everyone. I’m so excited to finally share with everyone the final pictures!
We went back and forth for a while on what the theme of her room would be and we always thought we had settled on something whether it was safari animals, woodland creatures, or butterflies. But as time went on, we realized the simpler, the better. We finally ended up opting for a fairly minimalistic style. Whenever anyone asked what the theme was, we said “pink.” Honestly, I’m still not sure what to call it other than that. But we love it!
Something that was really important to us was a budget. We knew that the decorations of the nursery were more for us than anything else because little one won’t really understand much or remember what her nursery looked like. So keeping that in mind, we tried to keep a good balance of things for decoration and things that just made sense convenience-wise. That included investing in furniture that would last longer than her baby years like her 6-in-1 crib and dresser. It also helped that we got so many adorable gifts that worked well to make the room flow together. We can’t take credit for everything. We’ve got some great friends and family with good taste too!
Being that we are renting our house right now, there were limits to what we could and couldn’t do in the room (basically painting was the only big one) so we tried to do the best with what we had and make it unique with decorations that we could pick up and move anywhere when the time comes. I won’t lie- I was dying to put up removable wallpaper. But as I got further along in the pregnancy, easy was what was most appealing to me and applying removable wallpaper (or wallpaper of any kind) is not that.
I feel like I say it all the time, but I can’t wait for her to be here! The nursery turned out adorably and the only thing missing is our little boogs!
[…] Baby girl’s nursery is all finished (well, as best as it will be) and ready to greet her smiley face! Colt and I spent so much time making sure that we made the right choices on everything from dressers to rockers and it all came together to be the cutest little room. You can read more about her nursery and see pictures here. […]
