Yesterday marked four weeks of our beautiful daughter being earthside and it’s got me thinking back to all of the moments leading up to her arrival.
During my pregnancy, I was both sick and extremely self conscious, so I rarely took photos to document the different phases I went through. Looking back now, I wish I would’ve snapped at least a couple. I didn’t realize how special they would be to me now. Of course I have my daughter, but I would love to have more than stretch marks and stitches to remember her being in my belly by.
I highly recommend to all my pregnant ladies out there that you take pictures even if you look or feel like absolute shit. It’s worth it later.
Since I didn’t do the weekly bump photos or constant selfies, I hold my maternity photos near and dear to my heart now. I debated for a long time on if I even wanted to take any, but I’m so glad I did. We were able to capture memories from mere weeks before Haiden decided to unexpectedly make her way into the world. You can see how excited and in love we are, which I can’t wait to show Haiden one day.
Colt and I worked with an amazing photographer who was so helpful and accommodating. You can see more of her work on her socials and website, all of which are linked below. She and her fiancé made the long trip to Columbus where she took gorgeous photos throughout our home. She typically doesn’t do maternity pictures, so I was so excited when she was immediately down for the idea. I love that we opted for our home as the location because we not only capture our love for each other and my growing baby bump, but also little one’s nursery and all the rooms she gets to grow up in. I know once she’s old enough for us to tell her stories about her younger years, she won’t remember the first house she ever came home to so we’ll be able to show her these pictures.
Ava Grace is a Wellington, Ohio based photographer specializing in creative portraits, but she’s always willing to capture any shot! She’s extremely talented and dedicated to providing beautiful photos at an affordable price, which is why she’s such a big hit. She’s working hard to expand her business this year and her ultimate goal is to become a destination elopement photographer (so cool)! If you’re looking for a photographer, I highly highly recommend Ava! I give her 6 stars, 3 thumbs up, and an 11 out of 10!
