4 YEARS ANNIVERSARY!

Hi guys! I hope everyone is doing well! I haven’t been posting in a while because my laptop took a dump on me (just my luck), but I couldn’t go without recognizing the four year anniversary of MegannLouise.com!

It’s insane to think that the support and encouragement of my best friend to share my writing led to one of my proudest accomplishments thus far. Sure, I took a few “vacations” here and there, but the passion I have for writing has never left.
In these last 4 years, I’ve documented so much of my life on my blog… falling in love, falling out of love, moving into my first apartment, going to a new school, and so much more. I like to call my blog my public diary.

I have to admit that I was considering ending my blogging journey recently. I found myself in a rut creatively and couldn’t find any joy in what I was producing. I have to thank my awesome friend for saying something he may have forgotten about but I never will- “I don’t want to live in a world where you gave up on something you are so damn fucking good at. The world deserves it.” Honestly, if it wasn’t for that encouragement, I 100% believe I would have thrown in the towel.

I’m so grateful for all of the love and support I’ve gotten from my friends, family, and readers. If you’ve ever backed me while I’ve explored my writing, I promise you it didn’t go unnoticed.
Right now I am still dealing with tech issues that are preventing me from posting new content, but I promise that when everything is up and working again, there will be plenty of fun FRESH material up for you guys!

Thank you so much for giving me a chance and keeping up with all the craziness I’ve been up to in the last four years! Here’s to four more! 💗

Megann Louise in 2020

Happy New Year! I hope everyone celebrated safely!

I, for one, rang in the new year in my pajamas. That’s right, no big “roaring 20’s” party for me. In typical Megann fashion, I was feeling a little under the weather so I decided to stay home and watch the ball drop from the comfort of my parents’ house.

I spent the last couple days of 2019 laying out the groundwork for what will be a transformative year for MegannLouise. I made it my New Year’s Resolution to make big changes with my online presence, so of course my top priority is to get my blog looking neater. I have so many crazy ideas that I can’t wait to get started on. There’s so much I can’t really share yet, but trust me- it’s going to be wild.

I can say that I will be posting regularly now, which has been something I’ve really struggled with in the past. It’s crazy to think that I finally figured out how to keep things going without big gaps when I used to pull my hair out over it. We’re going to leave inconsistency in 2019!

I’m also hoping to step my photography game up so I can include more pictures in my posts! I’m a visual person so that’s always my favorite part of reading others’ uploads.

OH! I plan to be using my Facebook page a lot more this year, so click here or the link below to like and follow along with everything I share on there!

This year is going to be so full of change and I can’t wait to see where it takes us!

If you missed it, I made a Facebook page! It’s where I’ll be sharing behind the scenes work, life updates, and other fun things you won’t see here! Check it out and drop a like!

My August Goals

We’re a few days into August and it’s time to manifest some goals. I feel like there’s no better month for these goals to come to fruition than my birth-month (btw, today’s my 21st birthday), so let’s all cross our fingers that some miracles happen!

August is a busy month for me for sure. I turn 21, move to a new apartment, and start another semester of college all within a matter of days. I’ll barely get a chance to take a breath until September rolls around! But with so many things going on come so many chances to open doors for myself. Let’s get into my goals for this month.

Firstly, I want to restyle my wardrobe. My taste has changed a lot since I’ve really got shopping so a lot of my clothes are just not cutting it for me anymore. I really want to go through everything I own before I move to my new apartment. I’d love to donate a ton of my clothes because they’re all wearable. I might sell some others to be able to replentish my closet.

I want to have a good birthday. I only turn 21 once, right? I’m not big on drinking so I probably won’t be blacking out or anything, but I love using birthdays as an excuse to have an over-the-top good time with friends and family.

Another goal for the month is to create a safe place in my new apartment. I’ll be sharing the apartment with three other girls so I already expect my room to be my number one place to go whenever I’m there. I want my bedroom to be cozy and welcoming as soon as you walk in, so hopefully I’ll be able to pull it off. I’m really big into creams, whites, and pinks so I’m really tying those into my room. I’ve already gotten a lot of what I need for my room so I have a good idea of how everything is going to look. I’m super excited to see the end result though since I’m so into interior decorating!

I start school in a couple weeks so I’m hoping to start the semester off well. I miss campus a lot and all the friends I made last year. I hope to feel my life fall into place once I’m in my classes and studying what I love.

This month I also want to grow my blog and social media. I’m finally starting to look at my social media as a business more than a personal account. I want to start incorporating my blog into my different social media more and building off of what I’ve already started. I’ve also been wanting to start posting on my Youtube channel for real. I posted one video, cringed a day later, then deleted it and pretended it never happened. Once I’m all moved in at my new place I want to try all that again.

Well, I’m off to enjoy my 21st!

2019 New Year’s Resolutions

First and foremost, happy new year everyone!

2018 was an amazing year for me. After being on and off with my writing, I made me official “return” to writing for MegannLouise. I slowly eased back into things and by the end of the year, I was comfortable enough to participate in my first Blogmas series. 12 days of writing was extremely tiring, but it didn’t scare me off. Now I’m here in the new year, still keeping up with my writing!

Every year at around this time, we are bombarded with people’s New Year’s Resolutions. I know we’re all thinking, “yeah right” every time we see one. Well, I usually don’t make resolutions because I know after the first couple of weeks I’ll give up on it (like I gave up on writing for a while). However, this year I’ve made a list of goals for this year, and by sharing them with you guys, I will feel like I’m being held accountable and I can’t give up on them. So without further ado, here is my list of goals for 2019!

Life

  • Give myself more time to relax
  • Don’t push things off until the last minute (plans, school, etc.)
  • Get active
  • Do something out of my comfort zone
  • Be more confident in myself
  • Journal
  • Take lots of pictures
  • Eat healthier
  • Drink more water
  • Stop using plastic straws

Blog

  • Follow a posting schedule
  • Only post what makes me proud
  • Be more confident in my writing
  • Post at least once a week
  • Meet more fellow bloggers
  • Take risks with my work

Thank you all for an amazing 2018 and “return” to writing. I can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for me. Hopefully it will be even better than the year before!

I hope everyone has a healthy, happy, and love-filled 2019. ♡
